About the Aircraft
Spitfire, considered to ¡Èa fighter saved the Britain¡É, its superior basic structure sustained itself on top-class performance from maiden flight in 1936 through the war for a decade. Modification mainly engine upgrading frequently took place on Spitfire, with more powerful Marlin 60 series engine. Spitfire Mk. IX served as a main force in the RAF in the latter of the war. Featuring longer nose than Mk. I or Mk.V, Mk. IX was active in the whole European fronts with its well-balanced performance.
