About the Aircraft

In Komatsu Air Base Festival held in 2022, F-15J Eagle #817, belonging to the 303 Squadron, attracted much attention. It wore a special memorial painting for the festival that took place after a blank of 3 years. The painting subject was a ¡ÈFighting Dragon,¡É a symbol of the squadron. According to legend, the Dragon of the unit mark is a motif of a dragon inhabiting mountain Hakusan in the local Komatsu AB. A Huge dragon was painted on each tail surface, and a Kanji letter that means ¡Èdragon¡É was written on the nose.
