About the Aircraft

The F/A-18F Super Hornet is developed as an advanced version of the F/A-18C/D Hornet, which entered service in 1999. Compared to the C/D variant, the fuselage was made larger, and the fuel tank capacity was increased to extend the cruising range. After that, it developed into Block II with further improvements. In April 2020, the development of Block III started with the end of production of Block II. One of the main equipment is the development of a CFT (conformal fuel tank) that fitted closely to the aircraft profile to reduce aerodynamic penalty. The CFT installed on both sides of the fuselage's central spine further expands the operational range of the Super Hornet, and is expected to play a major role.

This is a 1/144 scale plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the F/A-18 Super Hornet, a US Navy carrier-based fighter.
