About the Aircraft

The T-33 Shooting Star is a jet trainer that has been mainly operated by the United States Air Force since 1948 after World War II. It was also used by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. The engine is equipped with one Allison J33-A-35 centrifugal flow turbojet engine. It boasted a top speed of Mach 0.8 without a chip tank or external armament. It was developed from the single-seat P-80/F-80 fighter by lengthening the fuselage about three feet to accommodate a second cockpit. By 1959, it had produced more than 6,500 aircraft and became a best-selling aircraft used in more than 30 countries around the world.

About the Kit

This is a 1/72 scale plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the JASDF jet trainer aircraft T-33A.
