About the Aircraft
The T-2 was an advanced training aircraft of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force(JASDF), and it was also the first supersonic jet developed independently in Japan. First flight in 1971, the T2 started operation from 1974, and retired by 2006. There was an early type without armament used for training the basic combat maneuvering course and a late type equipped with a 20mm Vulcan cannon for the training of the subsequent combat maneuvering course. The T-2 was mainly deployed in the 21st and 22nd squadrons of Matsushima AB, and brought up more than 1,400 pilots until retirement.
About the Kit
It is a plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the masterpiece training aircraft of JASDF, T-2 late type in 1/144.
