About the Aircraft
The U.S. Army Air Force(USAAF) renovated the CW-20 and adopted it in 1940 as a C-46 command for the diversion of airliners to military transport aircraft. The notable and major type was C-46D, featured single doors to facilitate paratroop drops.With excellent high-altitude flight performance, the C-46 participated in “Flying the Hump” in India and paratroop mission in Europe, contributing to the Allied victory.
About the Kit
This is a 1/144 scale unpainted plastic model assembly kit for C-46 Commando “USAAF”.
-Paint and Glue are required.
-Contains One C-46D model kit with recessed panel lines in high accuracy.
-Reproduce the stream-lined fuselage precisely up to the unique cross-sectional shape of the 8-shape.
-The interior such as pilot seats, control sticks, and floor in the control cabin is reproduced in detail.
-Decal including 3 marking schemes from USAAF during WWII as below,
(A) The Air Transport Command (ATC) Flight over the “Hump” India, 1944
(B) 48th Troop Carrier Sqd. 313th Troop Carrier Group, IX Troop Carrier Command, 9th Air Force 1944 France.
